How It Works
How Carolina HealthWorks Works
Carolina HealthWorks uses a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) approach — allowing
small businesses across North Carolina to join together to access rate advantages and benefits more commonly available to larger groups.
Eligibility + Enrollment
Who Is Eligible
North Carolina small businesses with 2–50 employees
Must be a member of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, the NC Chamber, or another participating local chamber
Coverage is available to employees and eligible dependents
How to Enroll
Carolina HealthWorks is offered through Blue Cross NC–appointed agents
You may continue working with your current Blue Cross NC agent
If you don’t have an agent, direct enrollment is available through Blue Cross NC
Enrollment begins November 1, with enrollment opportunities available throughout the year
