A Voice for the Lake Norman Business Community The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce works to keep the business community informed and engaged on public policy issues affecting the Lake Norman region. Our Legislative Agenda identifies the priorities and policy positions adopted by the Chamber's Board of Directors and provides a framework for our advocacy efforts. Through collaboration with business leaders, community partners, elected officials and government agencies, the Chamber works to bring the perspective of the Lake Norman business community into important local, regional and statewide conversations. |
Primary Advocacy Issues
The Legislative Agenda identifies the following areas among the Chamber's primary advocacy issues.
01 Veteran Services Expanded funding for local veteran services in affiliation with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. | 02 Hurricane Helene Recovery Support for Hurricane Helene recovery and relief efforts. | 03 Transportation Collaboration with elected leaders and transportation agencies to advance road projects throughout the region. |
04 Workforce & Education Career-ready opportunities and training developed with education partners and area businesses. | 05 North Mecklenburg Magistrate Support for efforts to implement a magistrate serving North Mecklenburg. | 06 I-77 Mobility Advocacy for the use of hardened shoulders on I-77 to provide additional general-purpose capacity during peak driving hours. |

Focus Friday Public Policy at the Chamber | Focus Friday is the Lake Norman Chamber's public policy program, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, community leaders and subject-matter experts to examine issues affecting the Lake Norman region from multiple perspectives. Programs address topics such as economic development, transportation, public safety, community planning and other issues important to the regional business community. |
