Diversity Council


An integral part of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, the Diversity Council provides a forum for sharing vital information, networking and fostering professional development for minority and women businesses. Its mission is to help minority and women-owned businesses in Lake Norman grow and develop, as well as celebrate existing business that embrace diversity in everyday practice. The Annual Champions of Diversity Luncheon is a signature event of the chamber of Commerce recognizing companies and individuals that exemplify diversity. The 2016 Diversity Luncheon will be held Thursday, September 15th noon at Northstone Country Club in Huntersville.

Goals include:

  • Forge strong partnerships with like-minded professional organizations and identify new ways to achieve the common goals of our members

  • Identify and/or develop educational opportunities to help ensure business success

  • Support businesses in search of mentoring and guide them in attaining business from medium to large-sized organizations and companies

  • Aid small, minority and women-owned businesses in developing a greater understanding of the local, state and federal certification process, as well as additional certifications available to those companies

  • Address any unique issues associated with minority business development
