Cornelius, NC August 3, 2020 – Eighteen area High School Juniors have recently completed the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce’s Junior Leadership program for 2019-2020. The program, administered by the Chamber, is coordinated by the 2018-2019 graduates of the Chamber’s Adult Leadership Lake Norman as a service project.
This year’s class (Class VIII) includes students from Covenant Classical, Christ the King, Hough High School, The Community School of Davidson, Lake Norman Charter, North Mecklenburg High School, and Pine Lake Preparatory.
The students included: Olivia Shanafelt, Jacob Linkner, Katherine Schwanz, Grace Carr, Emma Scruggs, Clara Scruggs, Jack Bradford, Jacob Alge, Alice Bragg, Sarah Imhoff, Lauren Jones, Benjamin Barnabei, Oliver O’Brien, Sophie Doherty, Nathan Adams, Jacob Welborne, Samuel Brochetti, and Nia Dancy.
The graduation took place at Boatyard Lake Norman. Fourteen students, donning masks, shared what they enjoyed most from the program and received their graduation certificates from 2020 Lake Norman Chamber Board Chair Richard Pappas. Also, in attendance were two parents who thanked the chamber for the impact the leadership program has had on their child’s professional development.
Junior Leadership is presented by Novant Health – Huntersville Medical Center.
