Healthcare Notice from Novant Health

The following is a healthcare notice to Lake Norman area businesses from our partner at Novant Health:

Novant Health is prepared to care for patients who show symptoms of the coronavirus. We are also prepared to keep our communities and team members safe.

Our infectious diseases experts are continuing to monitor this ever-evolving situation closely, working in lock-step with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as our state and local health departments.

The best thing our communities can do is stay informed, stay calm, and wash their hands. Avoiding exposure to the infection and preventing its spread is the best way to combat it.

Anyone experiencing symptoms, including fever, cough and shortness of breath and would like a medical evaluation is encouraged to call their healthcare provider or our 24/7 coronavirus helpline, first, to determine where they should go for further evaluation. If screening is recommended, a provider will determine whether you meet certain criteria outlined by the CDC for further evaluation, sample collection and testing.

Novant Health is opening a screening center in Huntersville on March 18th: Novant Health Screening Center - Huntersville, 16525 Holly Crest Lane, Suite 120, Huntersville, NC 28078, which will operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All Novant Health-GoHealth Urgent Care centers are also screening. It’s important to note, people who have no symptoms will not be tested.  Visiting a screening center unnecessarily will only further one’s risk of exposure and put a strain on resources for those who need it most.

In addition, we also are highlighting our virtual health options for patients who have medical questions, but do not want to leave their home, including:

  • self-guided coronavirus assessment tool
  •  virtual visit options from 24/7 on-demand video calls to scheduled video visits.
  •  TytoHome, a medical exam kit with attachments patients can use at home, allowing a provider to virtually examine sounds and images. Novant Health is the only healthcare system in the Carolinas to offer this type of enhanced virtual care. To make it more accessible to more people, potentially eliminating unnecessary visits to medical facilities in this current climate, NH Digital Services LLC is offering TytoHome devices at a 50% reduced cost at org/TytoHome.
