Huntersville Fire Fighter Brandon Auten was unable to join his fellow Public Safety Officers for the 2019 Awards Luncheon hosted by the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce and Presented by Wells Fargo. So, 2019 Board Chair Tricia Sisson presented the award at the Monday, November 4th Town Board Meeting.  Sisson was flanked by Huntersville Mayor John Aneralla along with Huntersville Fire Chief Jim Dotoli.

Sisson read from the remarks from Chief Dotoli's nomination, "Brandon Auten was the Department’s nomination because of his willingness to faithfully provide a service without compensation. As a member of the department the last two years, Brandon has taken the time getting his firefighter certifications and then took on the painful task of getting his NC EMT certification, while still devoting countless weekends and weeknight of his time staying at the fire station. Brandon in a single year of 2018 ran 135 calls that year only to follow it up with currently 624 calls in 2019 and he’s not done yet."

Tricia congratulated Fire Fighter Auten as well as thanked the Huntersville Fire Department for their service.  A write up on the other Public Safety Officers awarded, including Huntersville Police Officer Matt Dunker, can be found by visiting 2019 Public Safety Officers.
