Join the Lake Norman Chamber when the Chamber hosts North Carolina Senator Natasha Marcus D – District #41 and Representative Christy Clark D – District #98 for the July Focus Friday. The event takes place on Friday, July 19th from 8:30 to 10:00 am in the Randy Marion Board Room 19900 West Catawba Avenue Suite 201 in Cornelius. The program presented by Novant Health – Huntersville Medical Center is emceed by Public Policy Chairman Jason Colvin.
Senator Marcus and Representative Clark will give a presentation on the legislation which has been approved to date in the General Assembly and the bills which are being considered which impact the Lake Norman region.
Senator Marcus, in her first term, is a member of the Appropriations on Agriculture, Natural, and Economic Resources as well as the Judiciary, and Redistricting and Elections Committees in the North Carolina Senate. According to her website, Natasha is a community leader and volunteer, animal lover, Mom, nature enthusiast, and a former litigation attorney. She has a B.A. in Public Policy from Hamilton College and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law. Before becoming a member of the NC Senate, Senator Marcus worked at the Ada Jenkins Center, a Lake Norman non-profit, and was a foster parent with a local animal rescue group.
Representative Christy Clark is also serving her first term representing District #98. She serves on the Agriculture, Appropriations / Capital, Environment, Judiciary, Judiciary on Criminal Matters, and Regulatory Reform House Committees. According to her website, she works as a North Carolina Certified Paralegal with a law firm she founded with her husband Chris. She resides in Huntersville and received her undergraduate degree in English at Roanoke College and Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Duke University.
Focus Friday is a public policy program of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce which examines community and legislative issues from multiple perspectives. While intended for Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce members and community leaders, guests are welcome by RSVP to the Chamber at 704-892-1922.
