Meet our Summer Interns: Lauren Kawalec and Max Pruss

Lauren attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and will be a sophomore this fall. She is studying media and journalism and enjoys reading, writing, and keeping up with current events. She is an active member of Phi Beta Chi sorority where she helps with philanthropy events and participates in various social events throughout the year. Lauren attended South Iredell High School in Statesville as a part of the International Baccalaureate program. While in the IB program, she completed over 200 hours of community service with various organizations such as the Lowe?s YMCA, Fifth Street Ministries, and her church. Lauren was also a participant in the 2015-2016 Youth Leadership program with the Statesville Chamber of Commerce where she learned about the inner workings of the community. In her free time, Lauren can be found hiking, baking, or kayaking on Lake Norman.

Max Pruss

Max Pruss is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Although he was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Max graduated from Hough High School in 2017 as a four year member of the lacrosse team and National Hispanic Honors Society. In college, Max is majoring in business and keeps himself busy outside of the classroom with intramural sports and a position as philanthropy chair in the Sigma Chi Fraternity. His interests are in finance, and after college Max intends to go into investment banking. Max adds, "Go Heels!"

The two interns are contacting members getting up to date information, working on the golf tournament and expo registrations, and creating new marketing materials.
