About our Speakers:

Dana Pape

Dana Pape (and her husband, Chris) comprise the Papemore Real Estate team at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Cornelius, NC. After serving 24 years in the United States Air Force, she retired as a Major in 2015. Throughout her career, she served in the enlisted ranks where she trained pilots and earned a full AFROTC scholarship; and, later as a commissioned officer, she earned her master?s degree, and led multiple teams in-country and during deployments to Kuwait and Djibouti, Africa.

With females comprising just 11 percent of the USAF population in the early 90?s, Dana was first woman in her unit to earn her ?jump wings? and complete both water survival and combat survival schools. As an Aerospace Physiologist, she instructed over 6,000 pilots on the physiological effects of flight on the human body by training them in the altitude chamber and, at that time, the only human centrifuge used for aircrew training.

She was recognized for her leadership potential and earned a full, 4-year AFROTC scholarship. Upon graduating with her bachelor?s from Colorado State University and receiving her commission in 2000, she served in a variety of roles leading diverse teams ranging anywhere from 5 - 300 civilian and military personnel. Some of these roles included Manpower Officer (Management Analyst), Human Resource Director, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Officer, and AFROTC Instructor.

In 2014, Dana deployed to Djibouti, Africa where she served in a joint operations environment (e.g., Navy SEALS, Army Rangers, and Air Force Special Ops) and was responsible for the 24/7 accountability of over 500 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines spanning discreet locations across 11 East African countries.

She culminated her career in 2015 as the USAF Senior Exercise Physiologist and led a 14-person team to develop gender neutral physical fitness standards in response to the Secretary of Defense order to open combat positions to women for the first time in history.

Dana is originally from Iowa and is the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran. Her husband, Chris, founded the first online support organization for male military spouses and was recognized for his achievements as the 2014 USAF Spouse of the Year. Dana and Chris (and their puppy, ?Norman,??named after the reason they moved here) are excited to call Lake Norman their ?forever home.? Both Dana and Chris actively participate in the community including the Lake Norman Small Business Network, Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, and promote their non-profit organizations ?MachoSpouse? and ?Lake Norman Military Veterans-HOOAH.? Dana also serves as a Board Member and is an active volunteer with the non-profit organization, Welcome Home Veterans at Richard?s Coffee Shop in Mooresville, NC.

Chris Pape

Chris Pape got into real estate after a successful 20-year career in video production where he excelled in the art of listening, attention to detail, and delivering successful products for his clients. Some of his career highlights include 5 National Telly Awards, 3 Rocky Mountain Region Addy Awards, and 2 State of West Virginia Media Awards. His work has taken him around the world producing marketing, training, and educational content for countless small businesses, the Arkansas Department of Education, American Payroll Association, AT&T, Comcast, ESPN, NBC, and the United States Air Force.

In 2004 he married the love of his life, Dana, while living in Colorado. Her career as an active duty officer in the United States Air Force moved them multiple times over the next 13 years, buying and selling their homes along the way. It was this exposure to the home buying and selling process that sparked Chris?s interest in real estate. He learned first-hand how important a steady stream of communication and information between agent and client was to the success of any deal. And he also learned how terribly unnerving it was as a client to feel forgotten by his agent.

In 2014 Chris was awarded the Air Force Spouse of the Year designation for his tireless work and dedication to military families and veterans. Chris and Dana moved to the Lake Norman area following Dana?s retirement in 2015 where Chris has finally been able to pursue his passion in real estate. He has since become a full-time Realtor associated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Cornelius, NC.
