Join us Tuesday, April 10th from 8:30 to 10 am as SCORE presents ?Connecting your Business to Retirement and Estate Planning.? Our speakers are John Misner ? SCORE Counselor and Tim Bartolomeo ? MassMutual.

.? The primary topics covered in this presentation include:

? Developing a clearer picture of what life will look like in retirement
? Understanding how the exit strategy from the business will impact retirement
? Documenting the roles and responsibilities in the business post-retirement
? Becoming aware of the retirement savings vehicles available outside of the business
? Understanding the concepts of estate reduction, estate liquidity, and estate equalization
? Learning about the planning documents needed to leave a lasting legacy.

About our Speakers:

MisnerJohn M. Misner, PH.D.

John brings nearly 40 years of experience in the field of Finance to the Charlotte office of SCORE in his role as a Certified Mentor. He currently serves as the Senior Economic Consultant with VALUANT. John most recently served as the Executive Vice President, School of Business Dean, and Professor of Finance at Piedmont College. Over the academic portion of his career, he has taught extensively at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of financial analysis, data analytics, statistical analysis, business analysis and valuation, portfolio theory and management, and personal financial planning. Prior to joining academia, John spent more than a decade in the commercial banking and investment banking industries.
John earned his Ph.D. in Finance and Applied Statistics from Kent State University. He is a published author and frequent speaker in the areas of asset pricing, market volatility, financial risk modeling, economic forecasting, economic development, and strategic planning.

Tim Bartolomeo, CFBS, MassMutual Financial Group CarolinasTim

Tim has almost 40 years of experience as a business executive, with previous roles as CEO of a specialty supplies division of Staples Inc., Chief Marketing Officer of AAA and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at PCA International. In addition Tim has started and exited several privately held businesses. Tim currently works at MassMutual Financial Group Carolinas where he is a Certified Family Business Specialist. In this role, Tim helps family and closely held businesses with financial strategies that include, succession and exit planning strategies, partnership agreements, estate planning and asset protection.
