Networking Events

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce provides a wide array of networking opportunities for its members. Whether you prefer early morning or after work to meet, greet and make new contacts—the Chamber has events to suit your needs!

Coffee Connections & Business BeforeHours

Develop potential leads and build business relationships before the workday begins! Throughout the month, many of our Chamber members host meet-and-greet sessions at their places of business. Attendance at these easy-going, unstructured sessions is usually high, so bring plenty of business cards. Who knows? You might have a brand new customer before your workday has even begun.

If you would like to host a Business BeforeHours or Coffee Connections at your location, please contact Jack Stevens at 704-892-1922. This is a simple and affordable way for people to see your location and market your business to the entire Chamber membership.

A recent Business BeforeHours was held at the Sears Home Appliance Showroom at 10035 Biddick Lane in Huntersville just behind the Target at NorthCross Shopping Center.  Members had an outstanding time!

Speed Networking

Speed networking at the Chamber meets on the 3rd Friday each month from 8am to 9am. The new Chair for the program is Jay Neal from HF Financial. Speed networking is a great way to personally broadcast your message to numerous other businesses in a very direct way. Each attendee gets 30-45 seconds to present their commercial to another attendee. A small dialogue follows until the full minute is expired and then the other individual takes their turn. Once the full 2-minute session expires, a rotation occurs and the process starts all over again. This rotation continues until the full hour is over. Speed networking takes away the usual awkwardness of trying to break into a conversation already in progress as well as preventing one individual from monopolizing a conversation. Everyone gets equal time to spread their message. It is an exciting combination of 2-minute conversations that make up the fastest hour in Chamber networking.

Ribbon Cuttings & Mixers

Upon joining the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, or if you've recently expanded/renovated, one of the first opportunities you'll have to get to know your fellow members and introduce them to your business is to have a Ribbon Cutting or Mixer. If you would prefer to have a simple ribbon cutting ceremony, you'll have the opportunity to borrow the Chamber's oversized scissors for the event. You may also extend your ribbon cutting event by also having a Mixer. The Chamber will also help you publicize your ribbon cutting, announcing to our membership via our website event calendar and newsletter. Ambassadors and other Chamber staff will also be onsite for the occasion.

Mixers are less formal, generally with food and drink, and can be scheduled at any time with a minimum of 10 days notice. We request that you try to hold your event during normal weekday business hours, if possible. To schedule a Ribbon Cutting or Mixer, please contact Jack Stevens at 704-892-1922 or CLICK HERE to submit a request form.

Business AfterHours and Chamber Mixers

Unwind after your workday, enjoy refreshments and connect with the local business community. Business AfterHours is a relaxing way to end your day, meet people, and enhance your business and personal relationships. Attendance is always high, so bring plenty of business cards!

Business AfterHours events are generally held the third Thursday of every month. If you would like to host one of these highly sought after events at your business—limited to 10 per year—please contact Jack Stevens at 704-892-1922.

We also host Chamber Business Mixers, generally held in conjunction with a Ribbon Cutting event. This past May Roland Lau opened his new Roppongi Sushi Bar in Huntersville at 14220 Oakhill Park Lane in the Rosedale Shopping Center.
