The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce is constantly striving to keep its members informed and up-to-date on a variety of business tools and management & marketing trends. Seminars could include basic operations such as management best practices or a review of financial programs such as Quick Books.  Each quarter, the Chamber hosts a Lunch and Learn called Tech Talks.  Whether it's an Introduction to Your Smart Phone class, Utilizing Social Media, or Search Engine Optimization (SEO) you'll pick up useful skills to use in everyday business! If you have a suggestion for an upcoming topic, or would like to teach a class, please contact Jack Stevens at 704-892-1922. It is chaired by Mike Murphy - Chair of Technology & Communication.

BusinessWorks!

This program is designed to provide businesses with marketing, management or sales strategies and practices to make them more competitive and efficient. It also allows representatives of a business a time to network with BW 640x480other Chamber members. BusinessWorks! is held the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 am tp 10:00 am at the Chamber and features experienced business owners and/or experts in the selected topic of interest.  It is chaired by Wayne Bidelman and Jim Vogel.

The BusinessWorks! pictured is the January program facilitated by Colleen Lloyd Roberts on Marketing.  Colleen is known for her high energy and fun presentations as she distributed attendees hats, noisemakers, and other items to make the session both informative and fun.  

Annual Lunch & Launch

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Joe Vagnone and Wayne Bidelman with Local Biz Now 100.7 FM to host an informative Small Business Week Lunch & Launch.  Held each year in May in conjunction with the Small Business Administration Small Business Week, the 3-hour program consists of several dynamic speakers as well as a panel discussion.

The event is typically held at The Peninsula Club in Cornelius. Thi past May the program featured Fabi Preslar - President of SPARK Publications, John Bradford - CEO & President of Park Avenue Properties, and Allen Clark - The Charlotte Business Journal.  A Travel and Tourism Panel included Sally Ashworth - Executive Director of Visit Lake Norman, Thomas Finlay - Executive Director of Carolina Rapids Soccer. Joe Kindred - Owner and executive Chef of Kindred Restaurant, Mary Wilson - Former Board Member of the LKN Tennis Association, and  Matt Glidden, founder and brewer of Ass Clown Brewing. The panel was moderated by Wayne Bidelman.

The Featured Keynote in 2016 was Greg Wessling, Retired Senior Vice President - Store Operations, Lowe's Companies.  Greg is also the COO, Executive Vice President of Morris Group.
