cats logo 11321354Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is taking a fresh look at rapid transit opportunities in the North Corridor. CATS is conducting the LYNX Red Line study and needs public input on transit goals, constraints, and opportunities in the corridor. Workshops will be held along the corridor beginning October 17. During the workshops CATS will engage residents in the North Corridor to better understand the most effective rapid transit modes and alignment that best meets the current land-use and transit values of each community.

The LYNX Red Line study is the next step in confirming the rapid transit vision for communities in the study area. The study area stretches approximately 25 miles from Uptown Charlotte and includes the Towns of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidison and Mooresville.
At the conclusion of the study in December 2018, CATS will present the following three pieces to the MTC for adoption into the 2030 Plan: a LYNX Red Line rail alignment, a LYNX West Corridor rail alignment and a System integration plan for the various current and proposed rail lines through Center-City Charlotte.
