The following economic development announcement was provided to the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce from our partner the Lake Norman Economic Development Corporation on April 10, 2018.  Yokohama, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., has announced their plans to locate an R&D facility in Cornelius, North Carolina. Last year, the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce held three meetings of our regional nonprofits. Those meetings were held at the Lake Norman Chamber, the Ada Jenkins Center, and Lydia’s Loft allowing our nonprofits to share information about each other as well as touch on upcoming events and programs. Our next meeting of Lake Norman regional nonprofits will be held Tuesday, March 20th from 9-10:30 am at the Levine Dickson Hospice House located at 1900 Vanstory Dr. in Huntersville. As you may know, work is underway on the next county-wide property tax revaluation. Individual (residential and commercial) property assessments began in 2017 to prepare for the full 2019 revaluation. With the growth that Mecklenburg County has experienced since the last revaluation in 2011, Mecklenburg County wants to inform commercial and residential property owners early on of what to expect in 2019 - specifically businesses and neighborhoods that faced concerns from the 2011 Reval.
